Adele was referred to South America Tours by friends. Adele and I wanted a customised tour with all air fares, boutique hotels, tours and transfers included. We wanted to visit Buenos Aires, Rio, Iguascu Falls , Machu Picchu and Lake Titicaca, plus a visit into the jungle if it could be managed. Adele travelled for 24 days, before returning home, but Nico added a trip to Quito and the Galapagos Islands for me, making a total of 33 days.

Nico designed the itinerary to include all the cities and places we wanted to visit, booked hotels, transfers and tours and all international and internal flights. Some tours were private; others we joined if they were available. All the transfer and tour guides were punctual, spoke excellent English and were very knowledgeable about their cities/countries and went out of their way to make our tours enjoyable, especially if they were private tours. Nothing was too much trouble for the guides; giving us advice on transport, places to visit on our own, opening and closing times, entry fees, providing maps etc.

All the hotels were excellent, very clean, the reception and dining room staff spoke English and were courteous and friendly, and the food (in our case mostly breakfast) was very good and varied. Most were within easy reach of the old city/tourist areas. Some tours included meals and the trips to the eco-lodge and the Galapagos were all inclusive.
South America has been on my ‘bucket list’ for a while and it was absolutely wonderful.
